We want to celebrate women-led businesses that are absolutely crushing it — this month, it’s Nails by Alina Verbova.
One of the hardest parts of being a digital nomad is finding people who are exceptional at what they do, only to have to leave them behind in another country. I’ve built a global network of incredible women-led businesses. I know the best beauty places to get a facial, get your brows done, get your hair cut, etc., but they are scattered across the world, and I always find myself missing certain ones when I move on.
And the one I miss the most is Alina.
Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Alina Verbova specialises in Russian gel manicures and has an incredible eye for detail. What makes her even more special is that she loves doing designs and doesn’t charge extra for them. I give her complete creative freedom, and she never misses. I always leave with nails that bring me such joy.
Her work lasts forever. It is normal gel polish, but applied with such precision and care that other nail studios have genuinely struggled to remove it. That is how well it is done.
Every time I leave Edinburgh, I feel sad knowing I won’t have her manicures for a while. She is always the first appointment I book when I fly back.
